I am in the aerospace industry but have also worked in finance, logistics, defense, tech-transfer, ed-tech, and entertainment.
I’ve been a software engineer through most of my career. I earned a BS in engineering physics from an aerospace school and have taken masters-level courses in data science to pack some of the ML fundamentals down. I recently joined an advanced research and technology outfit tasked w/ generative AI things.
My favorite language is Scala for its strong-typing, object-oriented and functional programming. I don’t get to do Scala for work anymore buy I try to do functional programming in Python w/ varying degrees of success.
