I was wondering if the combination of an agent alongside his associated task being roughly 500 tokens if is too much, considering costs optimizations and performance.

It depends with the task, the more detailed and nuanced the results you want the higher the number of tokens. So I think it’s dependent on the task.
On the other hand it also depends with the LLM you are using. LLMs are cheap these days so it might not even matter
