Is long term memory activated by default?

I was wondering if Long term memory was enabled by default when we activate memory, if it is, how to deactivate it ?

Yes, as far as I understand, all memory types are automatically enabled when you set memory=True, just like I mentioned in another thread:

Digging into the crewai/crew.py file, particularly the create_crew_memory validator, I noticed that this flag initializes several internal memory components like ShortTermMemory, LongTermMemory, and EntityMemory — even if you only want to use ExternalMemory.

And these other memory components rely on embeddings. So, you’re forced to provide an embedder configuration in your Crew setup to keep those components happy.

As far as I know, there’s currently no way to selectively enable or disable individual memory modules.
